PRIZES PRESENTED TO 65th TEXACO CHILDREN’S ART COMPETITION WINNERS
Naoise Hennessy, pictured, a 16 year old student from Craanford, near Gorey, Co. Wexford and a student at Colaiste Bhride in Carnew, Wicklow. Naoise wa schosen overall winner for a portrait study of an elderly lady entitled ‘ Lifelines’. In addition to a cheque for €1,500, Naoise’s piece also won her an invitation to visit Tokyo later this year where she will attend an international exhibition, hosted by the International Foundation for Arts and Culture in the city’s National Art Center, in which her winning entry will be displayed.
One hundred and twenty-six young artists from all parts of Ireland – all winners in this year's 65th Texaco Children's Art Competition – were today presented with their awards at a prize-giving ceremony held in The Johnstown Estate, Enfield.
