15/11/2021 . Members from Greystones Town Team help launch the #THINKLOCALBUYLOCAL campaign is encouraging shoppers to support local businesses. This campaign will highlight the range of retail and hospitality offerings available across Greystones allowing people to support local in the run up to what is normally the busiest time of the year for many shops and businesses in the town. Speaking about the #thinklocalbuylocal campaign, Cathaoirleach of Greystones Municipal District Cllr Lourda Scott said ‘When planning your Christmas shopping, please support your local retailers and businesses. It has been a difficult time for small local businesses, so please consider your local businesses when deciding on your gifts this year’. The people of Greystones near and far can help support the campaign by visiting a Greystones business. Once a purchase has been made, people are asked to post on social media with the hashtag #ThinkLocalBuyLocal, which will continue to support and showcase businesses to audiences both local and further afield. The #ThinkLocalBuyLocal campaign will coincide with the launch of the Light Up Christmas 2021 event which takes place on the 20th November 2021. This exciting event will include a Santa Claus Parade throughout the streets and housing estates of Greystones which starts at 4pm and a broadcast event at 6pm presented by Anna Daly with special appearances from Dustin the Turkey, Bressie and performances from Ross Scanlon, Dylan Crampton and DoMiSo music school.
