11/01/2022 Covid-19 Pandemic (Coronavirus), Ireland. Day 657 since start of lockdown. Bridge Overload. The small old hump back railway bridge on the Curragh Plains, which joins the main part of the Curragh and the Old curragh together and service the Dublin Cork railway line, in coming under increased pressure from large commercial trucks using it as a shortcut. There are regular instances of commuter traffic being caught on the bridge with nowhere to go, as they end up being hemmed in by large trucks. Most, but not all off the trucks seem to be servicing a large commercial quarry about 15km away on the Old Curragh side of the bridge.
