Photo shows Tánaiste, party leader and Fianna Fail Minister for Defence, Micheál Martin as he reviews members of the Irish Defence Forces (Soldiers) of the 124th Infantry Battalion prior to their departure for a six-month deployment to Lebanon as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). 124 Inf Bn will deploy to the UNIFIL area of operations with three hundred and forty one (341) personnel, (nine (9) Maltese, three hundred and thirty two (332) Irish). 124 Inf Bn will deploy to Lebanon rotating with and replacing the 123 Inf Bn.
