SL Controls founders Shane Loughlin (L) and Kevin Moran (R). SL Controls, Collooney, Co. Sligo. Management at Irish company SL Controls spoke to RTE’s Drivetime yesterday about actively hiring staff from the HP Inc site at Leixlip.
The specialist software integration firm has already hired seven people who had been working at HP Inc, which announced in February that it would be shutting its print facility in Leixlip with the loss of almost 500 jobs. Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which is located at the same Leixlip site, is unaffected by the cuts.
As SL Controls plans to hire more workers over the next 18 months – preferably HP workers when they become available, SL Controls Managing Director and co-founder Keith Moran is urging other indigenous operations to do the same.
Mr Moran spoke to RTE’s Drivetime yesterday about the issue. Also speaking was Charlie Murphy, who worked with HP for 20 years and has been hired by SL Controls. He started working with HP in 1996 and his last role at Leixlip was Factory Automation Team Manger
