21/11/2016 Crime Scenes. An investigation is under way following a violent assault last night on a teenage girl Kym Owens in Maynooth, Co Kildare. The 18-year old, who is studying at Maynooth University, was returning to college after visiting her family for the weekend. She got off a bus in Maynooth and was making her way to her accommodation when she was attacked at the entrance to Moyglare Abbey Estate. She was beaten and sustained serious injuries and was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. Photo: Facebook

4/10/2016 Body Found on South Circular Road. Blood stained items on the pavement as garda forensic teams search the pavement where Leo Carolan's body was found injured with stab wounds. Gardai we called to an incident at a flat on South Circular Road close to the junction with Bloomfield Avenue Dublin 8. A man was discovered with injuries on the roadway close to the scene. This man has been removed to James' Hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. When Gardai examined the inside of the flat they discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 30s.The scene of the incident has been sealed off for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been informed. Garda - Drugs and Assorted Items Seized/ Two Arrests - Thursday 25th August 2016 As part of Operation Thistle targeting organised criminals in the south inner city of Dublin Garda from the South Central Division assisted by the newly formed Special Crime Task Force and the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a number of searches in the south inner city this morning (25/8/16) Searches of four premises were carried out resulting in the seizure of a quantity of heroin (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of Û3,000, a substantial sum of money and other items of stolen property were also recovered including jewellery to the value of Û30,000, one watch has a value of Û15,000. As part of a significant investigation into serious organised crime in the Dublin Region involving organised crime, Garda from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau including the Serious Crime Task Force supported by local Garda carried out a search of an apartment in the Castleknock area of Dublin today (22/8/16). During the course of the search a submachine gun and ammunition were recovered together with a significant quantity of Cocaine (subject to analysis). As part of intelligence led joint operation involving the Garda Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Special Crime Task Force a number of vehicles were intercepted in the Blanchardstown area shortly after 9pm last night. As a result of this operation four kilos of Cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized.
